BlackBerry Targeted for Acquisition after a Profitable Fourth Quarter

After a profitable fourth quarter in fiscal year 2014 following a corporate restructure, Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry is reportedly targeted for acquisition by Microsoft, Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei.

Waterloo, Ontario-based smartphone maker BlackBerry is reportedly being targeted for acquisition after the company managed to profit in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014.
Reports state that Microsoft has appointed investment companies to evaluate the possibility of the acquisition to enhance the company’s competitiveness in the segment of business mobile solution and its patent portfolio in Internet of Vehicles (IoV), mobile and communications sectors.
BlackBerry recently shifted its business focus from hardware devices to software products which complements Microsoft’s line of business.
